Broward Days is an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan group of people advocating for the diverse needs and concerns of the citizens of Broward County, Florida. Our focus is to create a venue in which to engage members of the Florida Legislature, the Broward County Board of Commissioners, The Broward League of Cities, the business community, non-profits and community leaders in an ongoing discussion of what Broward County is currently facing. These discussions have been broken down into committees called Impact Teams. Broward Days conducts local workshops, hosts events and discussions with state and local leaders, and coordinates an annual multi-day forum in the state capitol. The on-going and dedicated work of our Impact Teams help to identify the most current and pressing needs of our community, as well as guide our topics, speakers and focus on advocacy. The entire Board is completely volunteer and is made up of community leaders from different businesses, non-profits, as well as representatives from the Delegation, the County Commission and the Broward League of Cities.
Broward Days was established almost 20 years ago and historically has been a great success. For many years the organization struggled with navigating around challenges that were created by policy changes in Tallahassee, such as the gift ban and term limits. Many members of the Board knew that the sustainability of the organization was only going to occur if some drastic changes were made. We made those changes! The Broward County Delegation is now spearheading the organization, along with our dedicated Board and Impact Leaders. We had an amazing turnout for our kick-off last year where we had Senate President Designate Galvano address our community. We are proud to say that Broward Days made a great comeback with two days of interaction with Department Heads, Senate and House Leadership, as well as our own Delegation. Broward Days is quickly becoming a one-stop informational hub where solutions are created to our real life Broward County challenges. We are building a think tank in each area by creating a venue where politicians, experts, and community partners can hash out ideas and find the solutions so our Delegation members can make the changes necessary in Tallahassee to make Broward County a better place to live, work and play.
Broward Days admits as members people of any race, color, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion or creed, national or ethnic origin, or political party affiliation, affording them all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to members, and does not discriminate in administration of its policies and programs.
