Dear Broward County:

Thank you for your on-going support of the important work that Broward Days began more than two decades ago. I am honored to serve as the Chair of the Board for 2017-2018 – the year of “One Broward”.  Our Board of Directors has a vision of being your one-stop-shop for all things Broward County and invigorating our organization to make the largest impact on our community, but we need your help!

Broward Days’ history as the advocacy organization for citizens, agencies, businesses and local leaders is a testament to the dedication of our community to engage with our state’s policymakers in an on-going effort to promote and protect all that Broward County has to offer as the state’s second largest county.

From the billions of dollars that flow through Port Everglades, the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and via our thriving tourism industry, to our state-of-the-art educational, health care and entertainment facilities, Broward County is indeed an economic powerhouse with the highest year-over-year job growth in the nation.  Additionally, our cultural, racial and ethnic diversity creates and exciting and vibrant community that is enviable to many.

That said, the population and economic needs of a county as large as Broward are also great, and our ability to effectively and collectively communicate with state leaders is more important than ever before.

Broward Days provides an avenue and a mechanism for everyone concerned with Broward’s future to speak with one voice, “One Broward”.  Our local events and discussions help bring Tallahassee to Broward.  Our Issues Teams, comprised of leading activists and decision makers, meet throughout the year to formulate relevant and timely position papers that guide our advocacy efforts during Broward Days in Tallahassee and provides a forum for idea sharing, creative problem solving, and networking.  Our multi-day program held in our state’s capitol during the Legislative Session provides access to legislators and regulators and valuable exposure for our sponsors and participants.

I look forward to working with our loyal supporters, new advocates, and even a few detractors, as Broward Days continues to be the catalyst for unity in Broward County.

Sincerely,

Nikki Fried
