Mission:
Supporting legislation to achieve gender balance that promotes equality for all women, through advocacy, education and resources, and regarding issues of health care, affordable housing, financial stability and safety.
Issues:
We support legislation that:
- Adopts equal rights for women;
- Increases funding for affordable housing;
- Preserves and increases KidCare, to relieve healthcare burden on mothers;
- Supports educational programs which promote financial stability for women;
- Promotes privacy and equality for women in all health care issues;
- Promotes and provides adequate funding for programs that teach violence prevention, abuse recognition, and programs to inform women of their legal rights. This will include shelters and programs that provide treatment, advocacy and support services;
- Ensures health care privacy, equality of access to affordable and adequate health care and service for all, increased funding for research of women’s health issues and educational campaigns, and promotes legislation that requires pharmacists to fulfill all legal prescriptions;
- Improves the standards for “voluntary pre-K’ and provides adequate funding for VPK and childcare.
