Mission:
The face of Broward County is changing rapidly. Immigrants comprise 25 percent of the population in our community and that number is certain to increase. Despite this growing demographic trend, policymakers have been slow to respond to the needs of the immigrant community. Important political gains have been made at the municipal levels of government, but there is more work to be done. The Immigrant Issues team will advocate for policy initiatives and legislation that will improve the quality of life for all members of Broward’s immigrant community and help ensure a bright future for the next generation of Florida’s leaders.
Issues:
In keeping with priority issues of many of Broward Days' teams, add the following to its program: Support authorization of a local option that would allow Broward County to fund affordable housing projects.
