Mission:

It is the mission of the Domestic Security Team to effectively champion legislation that will have a positive impact on public safety, recognizing the new threats we now face in South Florida. Additionally, advocating for proactive and efficient tools needed to ensure the security of Florida’s most populous region, including it’s tourism economy, air and seaports.

 

Issues:

 

• Advocating passage of key substantive legislation to bring South Florida into a greater state of anti-terrorism readiness
• Supporting legislative efforts to improve emergency and non-emergency communications.
• Prioritizing funding to enhance our emergency management, disaster preparedness vulnerability assessment, and level of security at Florida's seaports.
