Making an impact on Tallahassee
The primary force for Broward Days effectiveness is the work of legislative issues teams. The idea is to educate and be educated with respect to issues of concern to Broward County. It is impressive to be part of a large group effort affecting legislators and staff alike. It essentially says, “Broward as a community cares and deserves your attention.”
Issues Team Structure, Mission and Publication
Each Issues Team is formed of a team leader and other Broward Days members with common concerns facing Broward County. Some teams have over 50 members, some have a handful. Team leaders coordinate team meetings throughout the year and oversee the development and formulation of the position paper concerning Bills and Appropriations and those two or three issues over which the team has developed a non-partisan consensus. Each team and mission is featured in a comprehensive publication distributed several weeks before and at the Tallahassee conference to community leaders and those involved in the legislative process in both Broward County and Tallahassee. This highly visible publication outlines the teams, their missions, team leaders and members, Broward Days Sponsors, Planning Committees’ participants and Broward Days Schedule of events and speakers.
To join a legislative team, please contact its team leader with your request. If interested in forming a new team, please contact Jerry Majzlin, Executive Director, at 954.383.0654 or email to jmajzlin@browarddays.com
