Join Broward Days Board Members and Tallahassee veterans Evan
Goldman and Sandy Harris for an “insiders’ tour” of the Florida Capitol. Learn
the ins and outs of how to navigate the halls from the perspective of those who
do it for a living. You’ll learn where to access important documents, connect
with influential lawmakers and more.
11:30 a.m. Tour concludes with an opportunity to observe a working press conference. Broward Days members are invited to join Rep. Hazelle Rogers and the Children’s Services Council of Broward County. Rep. Rogers is sponsoring legislation to extend in-state tuition to all children who are U.S. citizens. Currently, Florida law does not extend in-state tuition if they are the children of undocumented immigrants.
Speakers will include Rep. Rogers, Sen. Rene Garcia (R-Hialeah), Rep. Reggie Fullwood (D-Jacksonville), Ana Valladares, Co-Team Leader of Broward Days Immigration Issues Team, Immediate Past Chair of the Children's Services Council of Broward County and Renato L., a Broward student who is denied in-state tuition under current law.
The press conference will be held outside the House Chambers on the 4th floor of the Capitol.
