Broward Health.
Broward Health (formerly The North Broward Hospital District) is a network of health care facilities serving the northern two-thirds of Broward County.
In addition to Broward General Medical Center, North Broward Medical Center, Imperial Point Medical Center, Coral Springs Medical Center, Chris Evert Children's Hospital, and Broward Health Weston, Broward Health provides trauma services, neighborhood health clinics, specialized diagnostic and treatment facilities, school health centers, physician practices, home health care services, mobile health care teams to treat the homeless and extensive community services.
With 1,529 beds and more than 8,000 employees, Broward Health is one of the top ten public healthcare systems* in the nation.
Tax-assisted and not-for-profit, Broward Health is the county's medical safety net ensuring that those who need care receive it, regardless of ability to pay:
Our initiatives to improve operating efficiencies have led to a reduction in the taxes used to help us fund care for the uninsured. Our millage rate is consistently low. At the same time we provided $300 million in community health services and care for the indigent and uninsured.
