Jerome Majzlin - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
More than 50 years experience in project management, marketing, public relations, education, development, facilitating, government relations, and workforce development in both the public and private sectors. Mr. Majzlin's training and experience encompass community outreach, national policy, city and state management, law, health care, performance measures, customer service, learning networks, communities of practice, cross-government leadership councils, educational leadership and systems change.
• He graduated from The George School, Bucks County, PA., obtained his undergraduate degree in English at the University of Pennsylvania and Masters degree in Education at Adelphi University. He successfully completed a combined program of New York University Law School course study and law practice clerkship to qualify for the NY bar exam by order of the NY Court of Appeals.
• Mr. Majzlin spent 16 years with the New York City Board of Education serving in a variety of capacities from classroom teacher/curriculum developer in English, publicity, promotion, theatre, film and video, to publicity and promotion coordinator/community ombudsman. He has also taught film and video at Parsons school of Design in New York.
• For 16 years he was the owner of Jerome Majzlin & Associates, Inc., specializing in the marketing/communications/P.R. and development needs of a wide range of service businesses, including professionals in private practice, independent schools, religious and cultural institutions, and political candidates.He conducted a plethora of marketing seminars for private business and chambers of commerce, FIU SBDC, and was adjunct faculty at Broward College.
• He served for 3 years on the Nova Southeastern University Development team as Director of Development and Alumni Relations for University School, a pre-K through 12th grade independent college preparatory school as part of NSU.
• For three and a half years, he was Vice President Education and Government Relations of the Broward Alliance, the public-private partnership for economic development, Broward County, Florida, bringing it national recognition as a regional broker between industry and education. He was selected by and worked with the White House government reform effort, called the National Partnership for Reinventing Government.
• Since 2004, he has served as Executive Director of Broward Days, having been a Team Leader Coordinator since 1999.
• Since 2008, He has also served as Executive Director of the Tower Forum, a private, not-for-profit organization of business/community leaders and professionals, presenting monthly debates and discussion from Oct-May regarding current topics of Broward County interest; it convenes for breakfast and discussion at the Tower Club, Fort Lauderdale.
